We can apply our instrumentation to almost any industry to acquire and evaluate almost any relevant variable of movement and position.

Cooper Tires opened their European Technical Centre (ETC) in 2007. A well established brand in North America, Cooper opened the ETC to enable the development of tyres to specifically suit the demands of the European market. ETC test teams have a base at MIRA, a leading test venue near Nuneaton (UK). It allows the team to test various aspects of a tyre's performance from resistance to aquaplaning to ultimate dry performance.

Cooper and Datron have established a good working relationship over the past few years. This working partnership has enabled Cooper's test teams to improve existing tests, improve testing efficiency as well as develop new tyre tests all supported with accurate and reliable test data.

Bentley Engineering utilise Datron equipment for performance, brake, coastdown and ride/handling measurements at various stages throughout new vehicle development. Data is then analysed using 2D software.

With multi use vehicles it is imperative that the data is obtained under strict timescales. We find Datron measuring equipment quick to install, unobtrusive, easy to use and above all extremely accurate. The versatility of Datron products enables us to maximise our testing potential, saving time and money. This coupled with unrivalled customer support we find Datron meet the high expectations of Bentley.

Tata Motors European Technical Center (TMETC) which supports Tata Motors Ltd in the field of vehicle design and development selected Datron as a partner because of their vast experience of vehicle testing and performance measurement. This experience helped TMETC select and use the most appropriate measurement equipment to support the development of prototype vehicles.

Working with Datron has again proved successful as we feel the flexible working approach that relies on the good working relationships continues between ourselves. The Datron guys have again proved how key they are to the success of our projects running smoothly"

The test equipment we use is made by a company called Datron, and it is
called a Microsat system. This measures and logs all the test data using
satellite GPS and is extremely accurate.
Further details can be obtained from Datron.
The load cell and display unit for measuring brake pedal effort is also
available from Datron as a separate unit.
We have found this equipment to be very user friendly and very reliable, and
would have no hesitation in recommending it.
I have listed two contacts at Datron for you below. If you wish, please feel
free to say we recommended them to you.

MIRA is a leading independent product engineering, testing, consultancy and certification organisation. It uses advanced engineering, design and simulation techniques - validated in world class test facilities - to deliver new vehicle, system and component designs.

Many of the teams at MIRA need to make high precision and wide ranging measurements of vehicle behaviour using instrumentation that must be accurate, quick to install and flexible to use. The OxTS RT3100 fulfils those requirements.

Thought you might like to see some pictures of our latest Suchy installation. My "customers" are very pleased with the neatness of the installation and also the fact that we have the logger power and USB lead in the cabin of the car. Suchy is definitely the preferred option for my customers!

We have just started brakes testing in a One-77 with the 10Hz GPS. I will let you know how we get on.

Regards,

Chris
